gccgo-multilib software package provides Go compiler, based on the GCC backend (multilib files), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gccgo-multilib
gccgo-multilib is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gccgo-multilib package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gccgo-multilib *
You will get with gccgo-multilib package name, version, architecture and description in a table
